On behalf of the management team and staff of Mutual Savings Credit Union, we thank you all for an outstanding fundraiser for the Alabama Muscular Dystrophy Association (MDA). With your help, we raised $6,564 to help send multiple children to MDA Summer Camp 2018.
Throughout the month of May, Mutual Savings sold paper “pinups” for $1, $5 or a larger contribution to help individuals with muscular dystrophy live longer and grow stronger. Through this fundraiser, we hope to help create life-changing experiences for children with muscular dystrophy at MDA Summer Camp.
“It is a blessing to send these children to MDA Summer Camp. These camps allow them to experience the outdoors, play sports and enjoy being a kid,” said Kendall Speed, President and CEO of Mutual Savings Credit Union. “We are happy and excited to announce we have raised over $6,000 for MDA.”
Last year, Mutual Savings raised $3,329 during the MDA Summer Camp Program. This year, our goal was to raise $4,000 for MDA children living in Alabama and we exceeded that goal beyond belief.
At MDA Summer Camp, children living with muscular dystrophy and related life-threatening diseases discover new interests while gaining self-confidence, make lifelong friendships and experience the independence of being away from home in an environment where barriers don’t exist. Thank you for your donations and commitment to making this week of adventures possible for these children.
