Updates to Mutual Savings Credit Union Call Center & Branch Services
A Mutual Savings Credit Union membership provides access to a variety of free tools that give members the ability to manage your MSCU accounts more efficiently. These tools, such as online banking and telephone banking, give users real-time updates from your home, office or on the go with mobile banking. Mutual Savings wants our members to have more time to do the things you enjoy, and that’s why we place so much emphasis on helping you be more efficient.
While we know that speaking to a Mutual Savings representative is a valued avenue of communication, calls to the MSCU Call Center often pertain to matters that can be easily addressed with these tools. Beginning on March 1st, Mutual Savings Credit Union members that contact the Call Center or call a branch for transactions that can be performed in our mobile banking, telephone banking and home banking systems will be charged a fee. Members who visit the branch to perform these transactions at the teller line will not be charged a fee.
What is the fee for having basic transactions performed by staff on the phone?
$3 per call
What basic transactions will I be charged for by contact the MSCU Call Center as opposed to using a service like telephone banking?
- Transfers from one account to another
- Account Inquiries
- Confirmation of deposit
- Confirming checks cleared
What transactions are NOT charged fees?
- Loan payments
- Loan application
- Renewing Certificates of deposit
- Change of address
- Stop Payments
- Fraud issues
- Setting up the initial log-in for home banking (and therefore mobile banking)
Where can I perform these transactions for free/at no cost?
- Telephone banking
- Home banking
- Mobile banking
- Or, in a normal transaction with a teller/MSR at your nearest MSCU branch
Home banking, telephone banking and mobile banking are all free services that inform members about their account very quickly, among other benefits. These benefits include:

- 24/7 – no waiting in lines or call queues to talk to a call center representative
- Can activate your debit card for speedy use when purchasing goods
- Report lost or stolen debit cards
- Can perform most of the transactions such as balance inquiries, transfers and even make loan payments. You can find out what checks cleared and have checks sent from your account.

- 24/7 – no waiting in lines or call queues to talk to a call center representative
- Transfer money between accounts
- Access bill pay to pay bills for on-time delivery, even set up bill reminders
- View account activity to see what withdrawals and deposits have been made
- View e-statements up to 1 year old
- Determine a specific view of accounts you want to see when using mobile or home banking
- Order checks
